A Morning Walk

It’s mid morning, the sound of a wood pigeon in the distance calls to me. I pick up a camera, the Canon PowerShot SX50 HS is my choice of camera for today.
Walking through the countryside I heard the distinctive song of a robin.

Sunday Sunshine

It’s Sunday, and the sun is shining, the sounds that abound remind me of Sundays past. Young lads working on their pride and joy cars, the sounds and smells wafting over of Sunday roast being cooked and the faraway sound of a dog barking it’s joyfulness as it’s being walked (or should that be walking it’s owner) Birds flitting to the bird feeder, keeping a watchful eye on the cats dozing in a sun trapped corner of the garden.

It’s still only February, so maybe tomorrow ………..

The Robin Singing it’s heart out.

Look Around You

Whenever I go out whether its to the shops or on one of my walks around a nature reserve or my usual lunchtime walk along the riverbank,  I take the time to take a look around at my changing surroundings.

A new bypass has opened on my journey to work, which I don’t need to use but it has the knock on effect that my journey time has increased.

The riverside has changed a lot in the last few years, with building being demolished, new buildings taking their place and the addition of a new river bridge.

Nature changes from season to season. Leaves change colour, Flowers bloom, birds build nests and eggs are laid and chicks .

This time of year is a good time to watch birds feeding at bird tables.

And in Spring you can see

If you take time to look.

I find going for a walk clears my mind and often inspires my writing.  I also get to meet the most interesting people, from avid birdwatchers who are more than happy to share their latest sightings, to the artist who paints what he sees.
